    Atama Ultra Light Kimono Review

The Ultra Light BJJ Kimono is the ultimate tool for the serious competition athlete. Thanks to exhaustive testing Atama struck the right balance between lightness and strength.

    Build Quality

This is Atama and that's all we need to say! High quality, durable material, soft and solid at the same time.
This Gi is made from ultra-light weave fabric. It's been said that while wearing this Gi you can actually feel a breeze of air as you are moving.

    Jacket Build:
    • Single weave
    • No back or skirt seam
    • Super lightweight
    Pants Build:
    • Military grade ripstop
    • Lightweight
    Jacket

The jacket is very comfortable and is patched at the shoulders along the neck. Additionally there’s a small patch in the upper back which are very aesthetic. There's also the Atama logo on red background with golden letter in the word “master in kimonos” (in Portuguese). They are designed so well, you will never want to remove them. There are no frills in the jacket, no stitches are mixed and except for the back of the sleeves no custom backing band. Also there are no seam on the back of the jacket and reinforcements on all stress points.

    Pants

The pants of this kimono are ripstop classic with the same, nice and practical patches as on the jacket. These pants are really basic and classy and there's nothing remarkable.

    Comfort & Fit

The name of this kimono sets the stage. This bjj gi is superlight and great for no time limit competitions and hot summer training sessions. Past reviewers remarked they felt lighter, more mobile and quicker. It’s a bunch of fun to roll in, and as we mentioned above, you don’t feel like you’re drowning in a wet blanket on hot summer days. Atama offers a wide variety of sizes for the lightweight bjj gi.

    Care

In order to avoid shrinkage we recommend that you wash the gi in cold water and hang dry. However, if you feel the fit is a bit on the larger side you  can always wash it in hot water and throw it in the dryer.

    Brand

Atama is Japanese word meaning head, mind and intelligence. Since 1989 this well – known brand satisfies the most demanding Brazilian Jiu Jitsu athletes and consumers. These Kimonos are developed, designed and produced by professional specialists, using nothing but top quality materials. This is their secret of providing comfort and durability to their customers for more than 20 years. Long story short, this brand sets the standards for the Brazilian Jiu Jitsu kimonos.

    Conclusion

This is the ultimate Gi for the serious competition athletes who prioritize their comfort and mobility.
